Rosacea
Rosacea is not fun. It is a stubborn skin condition that is difficult to treat and affects a large number of Australians with fair skin. It sneaks up slowly: starting as a tendency to blush and progresses until eventually there is permanent dilation of blood vessels.
Signs of rosacea- do you have one or more of the following?
1. Redness of face affecting nose and cheeks first but spreading to affect all areas.
2. Pimples and papules (red raised bumps) that resemble acne.
3. Bulbous enlargement of nose called rhinophyma (Think of Rumpole)
4. Redness of eyes and eyelids, with a gritty feeling. (ocular rosacea)
Effective management of rosacea begins with a skin treatment plan and Intense Pulsed light treatments.
